Claims FAQ
How long does it take to get paid?
Most life insurance claims are paid within 30 to 60 days of filing. If all paperwork is in order, many carriers process claims even faster — sometimes within 2 weeks. For families who need immediate help with funeral costs, we work with carriers that can pay out within 24 to 72 hours.
What documents are needed to file?
You'll typically need a certified death certificate, the policy number, a completed claim form (we help with this), and a government-issued ID from the beneficiary. We walk you through everything so nothing gets missed.
Can a claim be denied?
It's rare, but claims can be denied if the policy lapsed, if there was material misrepresentation on the application, or if the death occurred during the contestability period (usually the first 2 years). We help you avoid these issues from day one.
Do I have to deal with the insurance company myself?
No. That's why we're here. We handle all communication with the carrier, file the paperwork, and follow up on your behalf. Your family just needs to call us — we take it from there.
Is the payout taxable?
In most cases, life insurance death benefits are received income-tax-free by the beneficiary. There can be exceptions with estate taxes on very large policies, but for the vast majority of families, the full amount goes directly to your loved ones.
